Phragmites Management Plan
The Clay Township Phragmites Management Plan was approved by the Clay Township Board of Trustees on June 7, 2010. The Plan is different from the Program in that the Plan is a long range plan for managing the Phragmites within the community as opposed to the Program which is the list of things which the Township would like to do this year. We would love to be doing everything which is in the Plan every year, but, what we can do each year depends on available funding through grants and other sources.
The Clay Township Phragmites Management Plan has various components including surveying the Phragmites within the community, annually establishing priority treatment areas, communicating with and educating property owners, providing permit and treatment assistance, exploring funding possibilities, establishing an administrative position of Clay Township Phragmites Management Coordinator and developing a program of volunteers to assist others with Phragmites control.
