Important announcement - The deadline has passed for being included in this year's Township group permits.

For those of you who are in the program, please note that we have received our permit from the State of Michigan.  In the next 24 hours we will announce on this page when your approval packets will be ready to be picked up at the Clay Township Clerk's office.  You or your representative must have attended a Phragmites Management workshop to be eligible to pick up your approval packet or your chemicals.

We have scheduled one more Phragmites Management workshop for Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 10 am at the the Clay Township Hall.  No pre-registration is required.

Welcome to the Clay Township Phragmites Management Advisory Board web site.  The Phragmites Advisory Board (PAB) was established on April 5, 2010 by a Clay Township Board of Trustees Resolution for the purpose of developing a Phragmites Management Plan for the Township.  The Clay Township Phragmites Management Plan was approved by the Clay Township Board of Trustees on June 7, 2010.  Part of the Plan included having an annual action program, The Clay Township Phragmites Management Program, to assist property owners with the control of Phragmites.  The Program is different from the Plan in that the Plan is a long range plan for managing the Phragmites within the community as opposed to the Program which is the list of things which the Township would like to do this year.  On June 7, 2010 the Clay Township Board of Trustees approved the Clay Township Phragmites Management Program 2010 .  Application to be in this year's program is now open for all Clay Township property owners.  To apply see the instructions on the Clay Township Phragmites Management Program 2010 web page. 

The members of the Clay Township Phragmites Management Advisory Board (PAB) include representatives from Government, Clay Township and Algonac property owners from the mainland and the islands.

Meetings of the PAB are open to the public.
