The Township of Clay, located in St. Clair County, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Assessor. The applicant should have the following:
- Michigan Certified Assessing Officer’s Certificate issued by the State Tax Commission or in the process of obtain the Certificate.
- Knowledge of BS&A Assessing Software/Apex System
- Valid Michigan drivers license
- Responsible for inspections of property, pricing of inspected property
- Knowledge of Property Transfers and Deeds
- Principal Residence Exemptions and all related forms and requirements
- Property Tax calendar cycle, July, December and March Board of Reviews

This position is part time. Candidate will attend and take minutes for Zoning Board of Appeals meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30pm and Planning Commission meetings the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 7:30pm.
